What is Impact?

Imagine a platform where businesses and marketing partners can partner to promote and track in a win-win relationship.

Impact.com offers a platform that enables the collaboration between brands and partners.  Their tool supports a wide range of partnership types, from traditional affiliate marketing to modern influencer partnerships, providing analytics and insights to optimize marketing efforts and drive growth.

It’s the go-to-solution for consumer brands (B2C), especially mid-sized and larger ones.

Who is Impact best suited for?

Impact.com is well-suited for B2C brands, influencers, creators, and publishers seeking to establish and manage partnerships across various domains such as influencer marketing, affiliate marketing, mobile partnerships, and SaaS partnership marketing.

The platform also provides services for agencies and technology partners, making it versatile for different types of users in the partnership ecosystem.

Notable Features

In my opinion, I’ve found the most the notable features of the Impact to be:

  • Manage and optimize multiple types of marketing partnerships — influencer marketing, affiliate marketing, mobile partnerships, and SaaS partnership marketing — across their entire lifecycle.
  • Tools for discovering, recruiting, contracting, and tracking partnerships.
  • Capabilities to engage with, protect, and monitor partnership activities.
  • Analytics and insights to optimize marketing efforts and drive growth.

Pros and Cons

In my opinion, these are the main pros and cons of Impact:

Pros:

  • Analytics: From their Contribution Report that measures the partner contribution throughout the buying process (not just last-click) to detailed metrics like EPC, conversion rates, and many others, Impact’s analytics capabilities are probably its strongest feature.
  • Network of partners for consumer brands: Impact powers the partner programs of many of the world’s largest consumer brands like Adidas, Lenovo, and Walmart. In doing so, the many partners of these giant brands are brought into the Impact network, allowing other consumer brands to discover and recruit these partners into their own partner program.
  • Supports multiple partner types: while affiliate partnerships are the bread-and-butter of Impact’s offering, Impact has been quickly building up its influencer partnerships capabilities to keep pace with the times.

Cons:

  • Lack of B2B partners: One consequence of Impact’s customer base being so heavily focused on B2C consumer brands is that there are relatively few B2B partners to discover and recruit in their network.
  • Confusing UI: The downside of Impact’s robust analytics is that the UI can be overwhelming to the user, both for the partner manager and the partner. I’ve found myself confused looking for simple things like a tracking link. Other users have also noted in reviews of Impact the confusing UI.

Price

Impact pricing starts at $30 USD /month. There are three pricing plans:

  • Starter Plan: This plan includes essentials to launch a partner program with features like partner onboarding, partner recommendations, recruitment tools, automatic partner payments, tracking online events, unlimited partner groups, and more.
  • Essential Plan: This includes everything in the Starter plan plus additional features like a Customer Success Manager, 24/5 live in-app chat support, Marketing Development Funds, and a white-labeled partner portal.
  • Pro Plan: This plan includes everything in the Pro edition plus dedicated support, Mediarails for partner recruitment, path-based payouts, custom domain, fraud monitoring tools, forecasting & anomaly detection, and cross-channel reporting.
  • Note: Impact.com also has a one-time setup fee, which is dependent on the number of technical resources required for onboarding.

My review and experience with Impact

I’ve been marketing go-to-market software like Impact for over 10 years, 4 of which have been directly in the affiliate and partnership technology space.

In that time, I’ve got to know Impact’s solution well.

In my experience, Impact is renowned for its dominance in the B2C partnership technology space, largely because of its advanced analytics capabilities and network of consumer brands and partners to aid partner discovery and recruitment.
